Choose the best NVIDIA GeForce Now plan for lag-free cloud gaming.
I remember my old computer, which I named Dusty because it was covered in gray fuzz and always made a loud whirring sound like a grumpy bee. Dusty was too slow to play the big games with the shiny cars and the jumping people, and it made me feel very sad when the screen just stayed frozen like an ice cube. One day, I was sitting on my floor eating a green apple, and I found out about NVIDIA GeForce Now Subscription Plans on the internet. It felt like someone handed me a key to a secret toy chest that was full of every game in the world! My heart did a little dance because I didn’t need to buy a giant new box for a thousand dollars. Have you ever wanted something so bad that your tummy felt wiggly? That is how I felt about playing games on my phone and my old laptop. Now I can play everything perfectly and I want to tell you how you can do it too.
What Are the Different NVIDIA GeForce Now Subscription Plans?
You might think that all these plans are the same but they are actually very different like flavors of ice cream. Some are free and some cost money but they all let you play games from a big computer in the sky.
The Free Way to Play
There is a way to play for zero dollars which is my favorite price when I spent all my allowance on stickers. You have to wait in a line though, and sometimes the line is very long like at the grocery store on a Saturday. Once you get in, you can only play for one hour before the game says goodbye and you have to join the line again. It’s okay if you just want to try it out for a little bit. I used this plan when I was first learning how it all works. Did you know that thousands of people use this NVIDIA GeForce Now Free Tier just to see if their internet is fast enough? It is a good way to start.
Moving Up to Priority
The next step is called Priority and it makes things much better because you don’t have to wait in those long, boring lines as much. You get a better computer in the cloud that has “Premium” parts inside of it. The games look prettier and you can play for six hours in a row without stopping! I think six hours is a long time, don’t you? My mom says I should go outside after two hours but sometimes I hide under my blanket. This plan also lets you turn on “Ray Tracing” which is a fancy word for making the light and shadows look real. If you see a puddle in the game, you can see the buildings reflected in the water!
The Ultimate Power Plan
If you want the absolute best thing ever you have to look at the Ultimate plan. This one gives you a computer that is as fast as a rocket ship and uses a thing called a GeForce RTX 4080. The games move so smooth it feels like butter on toast. You can play for eight hours and the pictures are so sharp they might poke your eyes! I am just joking about the poking part. But the The New York Times has talked about how this kind of tech is changing everything for kids and grown-ups. It costs the most money but it is the coolest one.
How Much Do These Plans Cost for Your Wallet?
Talking about money is a little bit boring but we have to do it so we know how many pennies to save. Each of the NVIDIA GeForce Now Subscription Plans has a different price tag.
Paying Every Month
Most people like to pay every month like a library book fine but it is for games. The Priority plan is about ten dollars and the Ultimate one is about twenty. I think that is fair because a big gaming computer costs as much as a small car! If you have a birthday coming up, maybe you can ask for a month of Ultimate. I did that and it was the best birthday ever. My cake was chocolate and I played games until my fingers got tired.
Saving Money with Six Months
If you know you love games, you can pay for six months all at once. This makes the price a little bit cheaper for every month. It is like buying the big box of cereal instead of the tiny one. You save money in the long run which makes your brain smart. I like being smart with my money so I can buy more toy dinosaurs. Do you like dinosaurs? I have a T-Rex that lives on my desk and watches me play.
Making Sure Your Internet is Fast Enough
You can’t play these games if your internet is slow like a snail in the mud. The games come through the air and if the air is “thick” with too many people using the Wi-Fi, the game will stutter.
Using a Wire
I found out that if I plug a purple cable into my computer, the games work much better. This is called an Ethernet cable and it is like a private tunnel for your game. If you use Wi-Fi, make sure you are close to the black box with the blinking lights. The Federal Communications Commission says that good internet is very important for everyone in the country. I agree with them because I hate it when my game stops right when I am about to win!
Checking Your Speed
Before you pick one of the NVIDIA GeForce Now Subscription Plans, you should run a speed test. It’s a little website that tells you how fast your internet is. You need at least 15 units of speed for the basic stuff. If you want the Ultimate plan, you need way more, like 45 or even 100! Sometimes my internet goes slow when my sister is watching movies about princesses. I wish she would go play outside so I could have all the internet for myself.
Why I Love Using the Cloud for Games
I think this is the future of how we all play. I don’t have to worry about my computer getting too hot or running out of space.
-
No big downloads that take all night.
-
The games start right away when I click the button.
-
I can play on my tablet while I am at my grandma’s house.
-
It saves me money on electricity because my computer doesn’t work hard.
My friend Tommy didn’t believe me until I showed him. We sat on the grass and played a ga
